Hi There, I’m Cecily

I’m a foodie, health nerd, yogi and outdoor enthusiast living in Bend, Oregon. I have a master’s of science in clinical nutrition and integrative health and I have a passion for helping others decipher their health issues and teaching my clients the tools they need to improve their well-being.

In my practice, I incorporate a combination of integrative nutrition, functional lab testing, and consideration of the emotional, mental, and physical aspects of a person so I can more effectively address the root cause(s) of health issues and imbalances. I’m a huge advocate of food freedom and helping others to remove restrictions they have around food – mentally and physically.

My Practice

Today, my practice focuses primarily on gut health and women’s health. Not only because many people are struggling silently with chronic digestive issues but because the consequences of a compromised gut are far reaching. If we do not digest and absorb our food properly, we are not benefitting from the healthy (or not so healthy) foods we eat. Nutrient deficiencies, leaky gut, food intolerances, hormone imbalances, and much more can develop. More and more research is showing how the gut microbiome can directly impact the development of chronic disease. 

With my in-depth knowledge of digestive health and women’s health, I have helped many clients meet their health goals, including alleviating debilitating gut symptoms and helping women heal from PMS, stress, food fear and much more. It is my passion to provide my clients with the education they need to make sustainable changes to improve their health!

My Story

My interest for nutrition began almost a decade ago when I started experiencing my own health issues. I’ve always been a pretty healthy person, so I was shocked to find myself in the position I was in 5 years ago.

First, I started experiencing a sharp pain in my upper right side. I went to multiple doctors who performed ultrasounds, functional testing and blood work and was told everything was normal and I was perfectly healthy! Interesting news, as I felt the furthest from healthy and normal that I had ever felt in my life.

My anxiety worsened, my quality of sleep worsened as I had trouble going to sleep and was waking up at 2:30am every night with racing thoughts. My quality of LIFE worsened as I was exhausted all the time and felt like I couldn’t think clearly. My PMS worsened every month with excruciating symptoms and I got to the point where almost everything I was eating was causing digestive upset – severe bloating, gas, headaches, abdominal pain, and I still felt the sharp pain in my right side after eating.

I tried all the fad diets in the book in hopes that I would fall into the right one. Some helped, but only short term. I knew there had to be something to do to feel better. What my body needed wasn’t some prescription or generalized fad diet. I knew something was off, but no one was able to give me answers.

It wasn’t until I started studying nutrition that I learned WHY I felt the way I did and why I still felt awful even though I was eating “healthily.” I learned how to heal myself from the inside out by optimizing my gut health, balancing my hormones and addressing my chronic stress that had worsened during this time.

I learned the importance of bio-individualized nutrition and that everyone has specific needs and what works for one person, may not work for another. So many of us forget that we must treat our body as a whole. What’s imbalanced in one body system is likely affecting a different part of our body. Taking medication to cover up symptoms, or simply eating a healthy meal plan won’t heal our chronic health issues and imbalances.

Trust me when I tell you, I’ve struggled too. I’ve been unwell and confused by all the information out there about how to get better. I understand how frustrating and isolating it feels to be told by everyone in your life that you’re “healthy” and “fine.”

My path to nutrition coaching started with my own health journey. I help my clients address their health issues by getting to the root cause of their symptoms. I take the time to listen to my client’s health stories and come up with a targeted, achievable protocol for each individual. 

I’ve been exactly where you are. I’ve used food as medicine, changed my lifestyle, gotten to the root cause and healed myself from the inside out. I can help.

Nutrition Consultations

A holistic, bio-individualized deep dive into your health addressing your concerns – harnessing the healing power of food to address your health issues at their root cause, and restoring balance within the body with full coach accountability and support! We’ll start with an in-depth dietary and health assessment to better understand your unique challenges and health goals and allow me to develop your customized nutrition protocol. Comprehensive Packages

Addressing the root cause of a health condition can take time. Recovering and healing does as well. Therefore, my nutrition packages are designed to support YOU through each step along your journey. Studies have shown that it requires about 3 months of consistent behavioral practices to make permanent lifestyle habits. Choose from a number of different packages based on your needs. You’ll receive an in depth protocol, meal plans and recipes, ​​e-mail support between sessions, bi-weekly follow up sessions and all the support you need to thrive. Let’s do this together!

A food first approach, always

"Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food." Using food as medicine is the quickest way to improve our health and focusing on nutrition is essential to our health and wellbeing. We will use targeted, nutrient-rich whole foods to support the body’s ability to heal while addressing and removing offending foods that are causing symptoms.

Bring your body back into balance

When our body gets out of balance, we begin experiencing symptoms. Symptoms are the body’s natural expression in an attempt to deal with underlying imbalances. Getting to the root of WHY and identifying symptoms helps guide me to a truer understanding of what is going on. When these underlying causes are addressed, long-term healing can occur.

Treat the whole person

As mentioned above, symptoms are the result of underlying causes that may stem from a variety of sources. Factors that contribute to any illness may include lifestyle, dietary and environmental factors, emotional and spiritual stress, genetic influences, as well as organ systems that are not functioning optimally. In order to achieve resolution of any health concern, all of these areas must be addressed.
